Private Lessons

Baebea’s Dog Training is pleased be able to offer private lessons. Most of your dog’s behavior issues do not happen in a controlled setting in group lessons. Your dog barks and charges at the front door, pounces on the window when the neighbor walks his dog, jumps on your guests, drags you down the street to the cat sitting on its own porch. Learn to make you dog behave in the environment he lives in.

Scent Work 

Teach your dog scent work skills. Once dogs learn to search for birch, anise, clove, and cypress, they’ll have the skills to learn to search for anything. Handlers will learn how to allow their dog to search without interfering and to recognize their dog’s natural alert or to train their dog to alert in a manner that is appropriate for their dog. Dogs will get experience on five elements – interior, exterior, container, vehicle and buried – plus AKC’s scent discrimination. Beginning and experienced dogs can be accommodated in this class. Dogs must not be aggressive. Instructor is an AKC Scent Work judge. Bring a reward that has value to your dog – soft treats, tug toy, etc. Dogs are trained on collars or harness, and lead. We meet at different locations in the NE and SE Portland area.

Foundation Obedience

This class is appropriate for people who want their dogs to have basic manners or as a first step towards more advanced training.  Dogs will learn heel, sit, down, stand, come, get into heel position, moving wait, and stay.  Handlers will learn different ways to help the dog learn behaviors – luring, shaping, guiding, etc.  Handlers will learn how to be consistent so their dog will respond reliably.  Pre-requisite – none.  Dogs must not be aggressive.  Bring a reward that has value to your dog – soft treats, tug toy, etc.  Dogs are trained on collars and lead.

Agility

Beginning Agility – In this class dogs will learn how to correctly perform the different agility obstacles.  Classes are small and customized to meet the needs of the students. Bring a flat collar, a min 6′ leash, water, and small soft treats and/or toys to motivate and reward.
